Project Overview
The Kingsessing Recreation Center in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has mostly impervious ground. As a result, providing an advanced stormwater management plan quickly became a priority.
Challenge
Manage the stormwater generated by on-site runoff on a 3.29-acre drainage area.
Solution
Firstly, Ferguson Waterworks provided a high-level stormwater management design plan. The plan detailed the installation of R-Tank® Stormwater Modules. Using the online R-Tank design tool the team determined the required storage volumes. In total, the fully-lined detention system now stores over 35,000 cubic feet of water. Over 30,000 cubic feet of stormwater is stored in the R-Tanks.
What products were used for our stormwater management plan?
Ferguson Waterworks supplied R-Tank Stormwater Modules SD Units and N080 non-woven geotextile fabric to complete the project.
R-tanks were installed within an underground basin, which manages over 35,000 cubic feet of stormwater. Meanwhile, it provided strength for the surface-level field. Not only do R-tanks offer space-efficient stormwater management design, but also they minimize excavation and earthwork – saving time and expense.
