GlasPave®
This paving mat offers a unique combination of fiberglass mesh embedded into high-performance polyester mats. As a result, the non-woven matrix structure allows an asphalt binder to penetrate and fill voids within the fabric, therefore limiting moisture infiltration within the pavement. The elastomeric polymer-coated fiberglass matrix in a GlasPave paving mat promotes a quick, strong bond with a variety of asphaltic tack coats. Similarly to the GlasGrid® asphalt reinforcement system, the GlasPave performs well even in the harshest environments. Expect significantly greater tensile strength at low strain when compared to conventional paving fabrics and other paving mats.
Mirafi® MPM Series
Specially developed for the rehabilitation of asphalt roads, this integrally formed paving mat combines the excellent reinforcing properties of glass filaments with the liquid asphalt retention capacity of a bonded lightweight nonwoven paving fabric. As a result, it mitigates crack reflections for low to medium severities.
How much asphalt is Mirafi MPM equivalent to?
When Mirafi MPM is installed, it is equivalent to the performance of 2-4 inches of asphalt. For example, increase traffic capacity for curb-constrained pavements (MPM50 only), or use them for full-width overlay, local patching, and joint repair.
Mirafi MPM prevents water from penetrating the road sub-structure and has a high re-bonding potential due to high tack coat application rates. Furthermore, it uniformly bonds old and new asphalt layers to resist delamination when using moving asphalt mixes. The Mirafi MPM is easy to install on both milled surfaces and also on roads with curves. In addition, conventional milling machines are suitable. Lastly, if it is fully saturated during installation, then it is recyclable.
