Geonets

Cost-effect and time-saving alternative to sand and gravel drainage for heavy-load applications

Waste management, environmental, and construction professionals use geonets to collect liquid or gas contaminants and filter sediment. Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), they form a 3-dimension drainage structure. The tri-planar drainage geocomposite is resilient to high loads. As a result, it is an innovative solution for landfill construction and remediation of contaminated sites. From cover systems (capping) to bottom drainage and erosion control, we offer top-of-the-line drainage geosynthetics.

Geonets and geocomposites improve hydraulic performance, resistance to clogging, and installation expense for:
  • Meteoric Water
  • Leachate
  • Biogas
  • High-Flow Rates

How thick are geonets?

Ferguson offers geonets in thicknesses ranging from 4mm to 10mm, which are laminated with non-woven geotextiles ranging from 120 gsm to 680 gsm, depending upon the customer’s need and the project’s design specifications. The three-dimensional bi-planar geonet (drainage core) provides higher lateral drainage of liquids and gases in all directions.

How do professionals install a geonet?

The design engineer determines how and where to utilize the geocomposite. Please note, it is important to take care when placing the geocomposite so that it is not damaged by stones or other protrusions. Contact a Ferguson Waterworks product specialist for additional installation instructions.

How are geonets and geocomposites stored?

For convenience and savings, geonets are delivered in rolls. Prior to installation, store them out of the way in a location without standing water. If storing them longer than 30 days, elevate the rolls off the ground with tires, pallets, or 2x4s in order to prevent water from saturating the bottom. Then cover the stack to protect it from the elements. Lastly, if the product is exposed to excessive dust, then wash it before installation.
