Uniaxial Geogrids

Uniaxial geogrid for economical, single-direction stabilization for reinforcing load-bearing walls and slopes

Civil engineers, contractors, owners, and developers rely on uniaxial geogrids for stabilizing load-bearing structures such as walls and slopes. Reduce reinforcement layers and install geogrids that resist chemical and biological degradation, then benefit from cost-effective and long-term reinforcement. As your premium supplier of base stabilization products, Ferguson Waterworks offers customers a comprehensive selection of uniaxial geogrids. Contact our team of grade separation experts to optimize design, minimize installation time, and cut expenses.

Uniaxial geogrid products have a high tensile strength in one direction. They are ideal for:
  • Reinforcing steep slopes and retaining walls
  • Wall construction
  • Dams
  • Levees
  • Landslide repairs
  • Roadway embankments

In addition to uniaxial geogrid solutions, Ferguson Waterworks supplies Tensar InterAx® geogrids, biaxial geogrids, and triaxial geogrids in varying strengths and sizes. This ensures our customers have access to the best reinforcement and stabilization solutions on the market.

Tensar Uniaxial Geogrids UX Series

Tensar Uniaxial Geogrids - Tensar UX Series

Tensar UX Geogrids are manufactured from select grades of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins. The resins are highly oriented and resist elongation (creep) when subjected to heavy loads for long periods. In order to achieve superior strength and uniformity, manufacturers punch and draw a homogenous polymer sheet. As a result of this unique process, engineers and contractors benefit from superior junction strength and high-strength connections to other rolls of geogrid or facing components. Furthermore, Tensar Uniaxial (UX) Geogrids in soils with pH levels measuring as high as 12 show no degradation. Not to mention, they are suitable for both dry and wet environments. Their open aperture structure interlocks with fill material, providing superior load transfer from soil to geogrid. Benefit from high tensile loads applied in one direction (along the roll length) with Tensar uniaxial geogrids.

Miragrid XT Series geogrid for soil and slope reinforcement in MSE Walls

Miragrid® XT Series

Miragrid XT Geogrids are another premier solution for soil reinforcement in Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Walls and Reinforced Soil Slope (RSS) structures. Creep-resistant*, high-tenacity multifilament polyester fibers provide higher allowable tensile strength which consequently minimizes the required stabilization layers. In addition, wide rolls significantly reduce placement time and a premium PVC coating protects the geogrid from degradation. Together, these factors decrease installation timelines and lower lifetime costs.

As one of the largest-ranging and highest-strength geogrid materials on the market, Miragrid Geogrids reinforce soil for MSE structures such as:
  • Segmental retaining walls
  • Precast modular block walls
  • Wire faced walls
  • Geosynthetic-wrapped faced walls
  • Steepened slopes
  • Stabilized platforms for voids bridging
  • Embankments on soft soils
  • Landfill veneer stability
  • Reducing differential settlement
  • Foundation seismic stability

*An independent test laboratory conducted more than 220,000 hours of tension creep testing.

Strata SGU Series Uniaxial geogrid from Ferguson Waterworks

Strata® SGU Series

Civil engineers and contractors use StrataGrid SGU uniaxial geogrids for grade separation applications such as retaining walls. Made with flexible, high molecular weight polyester yarns the geogrid has extraordinary tensile strength, increased tenacity, and low-creep properties. Furthermore, the yarns are knitted into a dimensionally stable network of apertures to form a geometric grid shape. As a result, it delivers tensile reinforcement to the soil in both vertical and horizontal directions. Furthermore, StrataGrid® has a proprietary black saturation coating. This coating provides additional chemical and mechanical benefits that preserve its durability in any environment. Select from multiple strengths to achieve the most efficient design possible.

Synteen Series

Based in Lancaster, S.C., and manufactured in the USA, Synteen brings a steadfast lineup of uniaxial geogrids. Made from high-molecular-weight and high-tenacity multifilament polyester yarns, civil engineers rely on Synteen technical fabrics to provide superior tensile strength. Not to mention, these Synteen fabrics are built to last and larger 17’ rolls help reduce installation time and expense. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, United States Forest Service, and Federal Highway Administration all rely on these high-quality earth-stabilizing geogrids for some of their toughest soil reinforcement and embankment stabilization projects.

Huesker Fortrac

Built for reliability and flexibility, Huesker Fortac Geogrids are made from high-modulus synthetic materials. Not only does their construction minimize creep, but it is also built with superior stability at the intersections for dependable performance. Contractors and civil engineers have turned to Hueskers Fortrac Series for more than 30 years for long-lasting, dependable ground reinforcement geogrids. All Fortrac geogrids are coated in a protective polymer coating for long-lasting durability. Custom-length rolls with steel cores are available.
